The City of Auburn presents a tour of the White River Disc Golf Course located in its own Game Farm Wilderness Park along the White River. The host, Tom Bontempo, takes us through both the winter and summer courses with a description and playing tips for each hole. Mr. Bontempo was the designer of the White River Disc Golf Course and is responsible for its upkeep. He also owns Mandos, the local Disc Golf store on Main Street in Auburn.

Sandy Ridge Golf Course near Midland, is a W. Bruce Matthews design. Mr. Matthews was a pioneer in Michigan golf course architecture and in the golf industry as well. He is a Michigan HOF member of the ASGCA and Michigar. His son, Jerry Matthews, followed him into the firm and collectively, they have designed more golf courses than any other firm in Michigan. The front nine of Sandy Ridge was built in 1963 with the back nine coming two years later.

Home of Golf TV In this episode Andy Brown visited Musselburgh Old Course Golf Club, the oldest surviving golf course in the world. The Course The Old Course at Musselburgh is a 9 hole, par 34 links golf course, located in the heart of Musselburgh, just miles 3 from Edinburgh and surrounded by Musselburgh Racecourse. The course was originally 7 holes, another hole was added in 1838 and then the full 9 holes came into play in 1870. I really enjoyed walking round the historic course taking a look at the layout and in particular I wanted to see the infamous 4th hole, Mrs Foremans. Its named after the pub, Mrs Foremans Inn, which sits behind the 4th green and where in years gone by refreshments could be passed to golfers through a hatch in the wall of the pub adjacent to the green the perfect halfway house!

In this January 2010 flood event at the Willow Oaks Country Club golf course in Richmond, Virginia, the James River reached a crest of 18.1' at the Westham gauge measuring station. The Westham gauge is approximately 2 miles west of the golf course. Flood stage is 12' but significant flooding on the course does not begin to occur until the river reaches 17'. After several weeks of clean up and repair to bunkers damaged in the flood, the course is expected to be in top shape for the spring golf season. Flood events of this magnitude can be expected roughly once every 5 years.
