Doug Blane kite buggying on Harlech beach North Wales. I can report that there doesn't appear to be any restrictions on Harlech beach (North Wales). Access to the beach is over an access gate, up a tarmac track through a golf course. They track goes up a small hill and turns into one made from wooden railway sleepers, before soft sand and the descent onto the beach. The beach is 4 miles long and very wide when the tide is out. There are sand dunes lining the beach (separating it from the golf course), however as there are environmentally sensitive, please don't buggy on them. The beach surface is firm, with soft areas nearer the sand dunes and towards Traeth Bach tidal sandy estuary (I went out there but found it hard going as it's soft with a mud / sand mixture). There are some patches of water and pools. With so much space, it doesn't really matter what direction the wind is coming from. I had the ideal on-shore wind, which was excellent. I would recommend kite buggying on Harlech beach, especially when Black Rock Sands is out of season. You may even get some words of encouragement in Welsh from the locals, I did.
